The Assunto Dukes on WWOZ

Deano Assunto is the son of Frank Assunto, who, together with his trombone playing brother Freddie, officially formed The Dukes of Dixieland in 1950, with additional help from their father “Papa Jac” Assunto, and Freddie’s wife Betty Owens, also know as “The Dutchess.”  In this interview, Deano explains the origins of The Assunto Dukes Tribute Band, and how this was a labor of love for many musicians and family members.  The interview can be seen and heard below:
